The Worthy to Win 8-Step Process is a step-by-step mental training course that focuses on the power of worth. As performers connect with their inner-worth they are able to tap into the potential they know is within them. A by product of connecting with worth is the ability to think more clearly while competing and tolerate higher levels of risk and pressure. Through the 8 steps performers will be prepared to become more process focused rather than outcome focused. As this critical mental shift is made, performers can focus purely on execution and distance from the fear and doubt that can keep them from accessing their best.
Worthy to Win offers both group and individual training formats in order to teach mindset skills to NCAA individual players and teams. Players will develop their ability to prepare mentally for match play and further develop their tennis IQ. Mindset development trains players in three crucial aspects of mindset development:
The Inner Game: Managing internal emotions including nerves, expectations and pressures. The Outer Game: Training effective on court reactions including (positive, negative and neutral), routines, body language, pre and post-match routines and match tempo. Player Grit and Resilience Development: (Toughness and Character Development) Player character development training includes self-awareness, discipline, respect, time management, balanced lifestyle, focus and off court routines.
Competition preparation teaches performers how to establish effective mental routines and rituals before, during and after competitive events. Understanding how and when to do these routines is a crucial part of getting the mindset of the performer in the right place. Trainings will focus on preparing for various mental challenges that can occur before or during competition and strategies are developed individually for each performer. Post competition debriefings are also conducted with assessments made on areas to improve moving forward. Mental charting will be conducted as an integral part of helping competitors understand their own behavior and how to change it for improvement.
