Competition preparation teaches performers how to establish effective mental routines and rituals before, during and after competitive events. Understanding how and when to do these routines is a crucial part of getting the mindset of the performer in the right place. Imagine being at a competitive event and having the ability to talk to a live mental coach who understands how to help you prepare for your upcoming event. Your coach is there to work with you on managing any difficult or unexpected events occurring before or during your competition. This training is designed for those who are motivated to assess what they need to do to be a more mentally strong during live events.
Skills Taught in Competition Preparation (Applied Learning and Maintenance Phase):
Competition Preparation takes the foundational skills from the Eight-Habit Course and applies them to live competitions one at a time. Players will learn how each of the Eight Habits affect their mindset, reactions, execution and outcomes as they compete. Pre and Post performance debriefings will help athletes identify momentum shifts, lost opportunities as well as positive growth that occurred during competition. Objectives will be set for upcoming competitive events with action items to work on prior to those events.
What is included: Receive 2 hours of structured mental coaching that can be used on a weekly or bi-weekly bases. Coaching calls at live events included and all formal trainings will include notes with action items. Completed mental charting will also be reviewed on a regular basis.
